  • Has there been any recent changes to your CMS?

As you use our system and become more familiar with its features, we would love to hear from you about what works best and what you think the system could benefit from. To suggest a feature for the next version, please click this SUGGEST A FEATURE link.

Q: How many inputs can the AmegaView system monitor?
A:
The AmegaView System can support up to 1000 inputs, per system. If the system is wired each AS-Connect panel supports up to 32 inputs. The AS-Gateway is capable of communicating with 32 AS-Connect panels! The system is also capable of handling outputs.

Q: Can I monitor chambers in a different building?
A:
Yes, you can monitor chambers in the opposite side of a building, different floors, different buildings, blocks away, across a city, across a state, even across country.

Q: Can I access the system from home?
A:
You can access the AmegaView CMS from just about anywhere! You can use the AmegaWeb V.3 to view, inhibit, and enable your inputs. Another way you can access your system, is by phone. You can call into the AS-Dialer to inhibit, enable and interrogate inputs on the system. If you have VPN (virtual private network) set up - you will have full access to your AmegaView CMS.

Q: What happens if we lose power?
A:
Battery backup will keep the system operational for up to 4 hours, and the AmegaView CMS will continue to log your data within the built in Flash Drive held within the AS-Gateway. Once the power is restored, the AS-Gateway transfers the collected data to your database.

Q: What happens if the network goes down?
A:
The Gateway will log data until the server comes back online, within the 1G removable flash drive built into every AS-Gateway. Once the server comes back online the Gateway puts the stored data back into your database.

Q: Does your system compensate for daylight savings time?
A:
Yes, the AS-Gateway is synced with the AmegaView Server's time, which is equipped to automatically handle daylight savings time.

Q: Can the dialer work on our digital phone system?
A:
No, an analog phone line is needed for our AS-Dialer to work. This ensures that even during a power or network failure the alarm will get through to the appropriate person.

Q: How long will the system continue to log data?
A:
Of course every system is different depending on how often a facility is logging data, and how many units are being monitored. However a good description, with a typical system and an average set logging rate, would be 1 gig of data which is approximately 1 year's worth of data at a logging rate of one hour for a system.

Q: Is the data encrypted?
A:
Yes, per the users request, sensitive data can be encrypted for added security.

Q: To what standard?
A:
DES3 128 BIT triple data encryption, standard Access Database, available per user's request.

Q: What are the computer requirements?

If you already have an existing wired AV CMS, wireless points can be easily integrated into your existing system. For more detailed information about our wireless system please see our downloads section.

Q: What is the signal and range of the AmegaView wireless sensors?
A:
The wireless sensors on the AmegaView system work on a 418 mHz or 900 MHz signal. The range depends on the construction of the building the system is to be installed in. Typically you will have 30 to 100 feet of signal, but with the help of wireless repeaters the signal strength can be expanded almost without limit.

Q: What frequency do your wireless sensors transmit on?
A:
418 MHZ, over a Zigbee Mesh Network, a reliable standards based solution! Download our wireless securtiy sheet for more information.

Q: How long is the battery life on your wireless sensors?
A:
3 years, because we use Tadiran high energy lithium batteries. For your added protection we also change the batteries yearly, during your annual calibration.

Q: Is your system traceable to the National Institute of Standards?
A:
Yes, we are an ISO 17025 compliant company. We provide NIST certificates for all our calibration equipment.

Q: What is calibration and when should it be done?
A:
We use NIST approved calibration instruments and sensors to verify the accuracy of your existing monitoring system sensors. If any differences are found the existing sensor is then set to match the NIST approved reading from the calibration instrument. Your sensors should be calibrated to NIST standards at least once a year. Some companies choose to do this on a semi-annual basis to make sure everything is reading correctly.

21 CFR PART 11 - Specific code of federal regulations (CFR) describing electronic signatures. Practically speaking, Part 11 requires FDA-regulated industries (Pharmaceutical, Blood Banks, etc.) to implement controls, including audits, validation systems, and documentation for software and systems involved in processing many forms of data as part of business operations and product development (taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Title_21_CFR_Part_11). The AmegaView CMS has all the features needed to keep you 21 CFR part 11 compliant.

AMEGAVIEW - The branded name for our CMS. It is a turnkey system including all hardware and software.

AS-GATEWAY - This is the main panel of the AmegaView system. All data collecting, alarm dial out and transfer of data to and from your network is done here. Built in computer with 1G removable flash storage. Responsible for data collection and storage on database. Equipped with alarming capabilities. Requires 110 V outlet and Static IP address to communicate over the network, or a stand alone PC. Equipped with 4 hour backup battery.

AS-CONNECT PANEL - This is a panel used in a hardwired system. This panel comes in 16 and 32 inputs and is used to connect the sensors to the AmegaView Gateway. All modules plug into this panel. Information goes from this panel to the As-Gateway. With this setup you only need to run one wire back to our main panel and not 1000 wires. This makes your installation less expensive and the system easier to expand.

AUTO PRINT - This software feature allows users to automate the tasks of printing frequent reports. You set up the report you want printed, then set its schedule for printing and your report will print on the set schedule. It's that easy.

CALIBRATION - Verifies that the AmegaView sensors are reading properly. Calibration is performed using a NIST certified meter, which equilibrates over a period of time, then the sensor is adjusted to the NIST Standard adjusting the system to read all parameters correctly. Amega Scientific typically performs calibrations on an annual or semi-annual basis.

CENTRALIZED MONITORING SYSTEMS - (AKA: CMS, Environmental Monitoring System, Laboratory Monitoring System, Centralized Monitoring and Alarm System) This refers to our system as a whole, from the sensors to the software. We set up the AmegaView system in one place (centralized) to work with your existing network, providing you access from anywhere. Once set up, up to 100 users can be connected simultaneously and use the system via our software from their own PC.

CHAMBER MAPPING - Collecting temperature and/or humidity data over a specific period of time, throughout a specific chamber at multiple points. We perform a full IQ/OQ/PQ on the specified chamber, and provide you with a fully documented protocol.

COMPLIANCE - Meeting the standards of governing agencies such as AABB, FDA, CLIA, Joint Commission and so forth. This also refers to meeting industry regulatory requirements. Our CMS helps your company comply with these various agencies and requirements.

CRYSTAL REPORTS - The AmegaView System utilizes the Crystal Reports reporting engine within its software. It is user friendly and the most widely used report on the market.

DRAG AND DROP - Refers to the ease of use of our software. No long drawn out steps, forms or complex instructions to set up your units in our system. Just drag and drop your info into the system and drag and drop to move and change it. All movement is password protected of course.

FORCED COMMENT FEATURE - Just another way our system aids you in the task of keeping compliant. This feature is activated when a unit is in alarm or you inhibit a unit. The forced comment box forces you to document what happened, why and how it was resolved right there in the moment, the way the regulations mandate it be done.

ISO17025 - The main standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. We are an ISO 17025 compliant company, keeping your 1SO 17025 laboratory compliant as well.

MULTILEVEL PASSWORD AUTHORIZATION - Permission level based on specific access groups by password. You will find password-protection throughout our software to access all different types of functions at all different levels. It's just another way we keep you secure and compliant. There are over 21 levels of security built into our software, that you have control over.

MULTI REDUNDANT SYSTEM - This means that we have various levels of "backup" built into our system to protect transmissions and data. Within our network we wire our system in a loop pattern, so if a line is cut the transmission (your data) is not lost. We also log your data in various places to be sure you will always have access to the data you need.

OUTPUTS - Aside from inputs/units, our system is capable of controlling on/off functions such as lights and alarms. It can even turn on and off your coffee maker.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE - Something we like to do to keep your system running like the day it was installed. At these scheduled maintenance visits we will install any new/appropriate software upgrades, check and calibrate all sensors, and perform all necessary training, or retraining of users.

QUALIFICATIONS - Includes IQ/OQ (install qualification, operational qualification) and assures you that every step of the way the AmegaView system is operating as it should. Our qualifications also provide you with the documentation needed to prove the system validated.

REALTIME GRAPHING - A user favorite feature within our software. View what you are monitoring in real time. You can even view the graph as it occurs. Track up to 5 inputs at one time on a single graph.
